👀 What is This Job?

Steppen is looking for a product designer to join our team and help us build a beautifully designed product. This is a full time role and involves the following:

• User research
  • planning out user flows based on an understanding of app and behavioural data
• UX research
  • understanding best UX practices
  • researching other app’s approach to information architecture, page hierarchy etc
• Wire-framing
  • Taking a clear problem, basic solution outline and determining best page layout which optimises for key success metrics
• Design
  • turning wireframes into elegant and joyful designs
• UX testing
  • testing complex flows and designs on users to understand pain points and iterate designs
• Collaborate
  • You will work closely with our co-founders Cara and Jake across all the above functions
  • You will also work with our dev team to ensure designs are possible to implement technically

💁‍♂️ What We Need You To Be Like...

Skills & experience

• You don’t need to be the head of design at Canva to apply for this role but you need to:
  • Appreciate this is a start up, you will be working in a relatively self managed manner. We cannot hand hold you
  • Understand you are the sole designer and therefore have a lot of responsibility
• Be a Figma gun, we love FIgma. Use of components and a design library are a must
• End-to-end product designer, from running research, to design review and implementation you need to be comfortable with the entire design process
